Nine - Ten - Eleven

Thanks to Larissa, we noticed that the date today was 9, 10, 11 ... Did you?  :)  kinda fun, right?
Here are some of our highlights:


Cade is #31 - This 18 second clip shows him completing his first minor league pass for a TD!


This one shows Cade (#31) running around the defensive line and into the
endzone for a 2 point conversion.
Pretty fun way to start a Saturday morning! :)

 


Taysa, Cade, and a few puppies 9/10/11

We occasionally flood irrigate our lawn, when Larry has water for the hay field. This is Taysa and Cade enjoying the standing water with a few puppies.





This was a tree removal project that the kids ... "helped" with. This poor tree was huge, at the edge of the driveway, and seemed healthy until last year. Then it very suddenly and completely died.  :(  so sad.

    the "kids"?? i think you mean Kix and Dad and those guys decided to go and take a picture out there to look cool! lol well i suppose that's the way it goes with us Congers though =)

I am in love with this new song by Sara Bareilles. Thank you Sara for your positive creativity!!   As you can see, I originally posted this when I first heard the song. It is now Dec. 1st, and Brave has become pretty popular as the year has gone on, and even saw a recent spike in the charts when there was a fuss from some fans that Katy Perry had "stolen" from Brave when she did her hit song "Roar."  haha Anyway, there have been lots of covers of this song lately, and several music videos that warmed my heart.  But, I saw this one today, and it had me in tears.  This is what life is all about.  Thanks again Sarah for inspiring the goodness in so many people this year!

Virginia is entirely too far away. . .

Well . . . She's really gone. Her room has a freshly shampooed carpet, thanks to Grandma. Her bed is there, stripped of the green and blue bedding she loved, and there are a ton of empty hangers in her tiny little cabinet that we called a closet. Some of the posters are still on the wall - thank goodness - because some small things like that make me feel like she'll be back in a few days . . . ?? Not. Love you Rissy! Thanks for sharing 18 years with us side by side. Even though I don't have the backseat driver view that I've enjoyed so much, I'm so excited for this next chapter in your life. I know you've got amazing things coming your way - and I will be cheering you on with my whole heart - just from a different view.

My 7 recipes

**(Dec. 10th) OK - I lied- it's 8 recipes. Taysa and I made sugar cookies yesterday, and I realized I left those out of this list - so technically it's 9 if you count the recipe for frosting..... I only use 7 recipes. I don't only cook 7 things. It's just that I don't use recipes. For example, I make spaghetti with meat sauce, chilli, different soups, enchiladas, crock pot stuff, etc.  but I just throw things together and shake in the spices. There is rarely a recipe involved.   Baking, on the other hand, does require measuring stuff.  During the first few years of our marriage, I tried lots of different recipes, mostly ones that I got from my mom. I tweaked them a bit early on, but now I pretty much use these 7, and that's just what I bake. All the time. Chocolate Chip Cookies These win everyone over. Every time.
